What are the payment options?
You can pay your tickets for a crossing with cash, credit or EC-card.
How do I get my ticket?
You will receive your ticket right on board with us. Please pay directly to the respective employee. The ticket is also your receipt.
Do I have to book in advance?
A reservation is not possible. Our departures take place every 20 or 30 minutes. You cannot book fixed crossings with the FRS Elbferry Glückstadt Wischhafen. Therefore please plan an appropriate time depending on the time of travel. The current waiting time will be announced on our homepage. For waiting times, please also take note of the traffic broadcast of the regional radio channels.
In case of high traffic volume, we travel constantly, without a fixed timetable.
How long is the journey?
The journey (one way) lasts for approximately 20 minutes.
What is the waiting period?
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a general answer to this question, because the waiting period depends on many different factors.

How early do I have to be at the ferry before departure?

Can I bring my pet with me?
Pets are welcome to be taken along. Please note our terms of carriage. Leashing is mandatory and the captain may prohibit the transport if necessary.
What about motorcylce groups?
Per crossing, the FRS Elbfähre can take a maximum of 15 motorcycles or more if traffic is light. If you want to ride with a group of more than 15 motorcycle guaranteed together on a ferry, then we clearly recommend that the group like all vehicles will line up in the queue and does not drive up to the pier. Only then you will be transported together as a group, always anticipating there is enough space on the ferry.
What about motorcycles with sidecars or trikes?
Motorcycles with sidecares and trinkes must ALWAYS join the queue. Front-runners will not be carried.
Are there toilets on board?
There are clean toilets for each men and women on board. Unfortunately, there is no toilet for the disabled.
Can I buy food and drinks on board?
On board you will find a small kiosk, which will gladly provide you with fresh hot and cold drinks, rolls, sweets or a delicious bockwurst.
Is there WiFi on board?
Yes, WiFi is available on all ferries of FRS Elbfähre.
